Meet Dr. David T. Harvey

Dr. David T. Harvey

Dr. David T. Harvey is a triple board-certified physician specializing in dermatology, internal medicine, and Mohs micrographic surgery. He earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed his dermatology residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed a fellowship in procedural dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

In his leadership roles, Dr. Harvey has served as the past president of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the Florida Academy of Dermatology, and the Florida Society of Dermatology Surgeons. He is currently an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Dermatology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Harvey has authored 35+ peer-reviewed publications. His clinical expertise includes skin cancer treatment through Mohs surgery as well as dermatoplastic procedures.

Areas of Expertise

With over 30 years’ experience in cosmetic and dermatologic surgery, Dr. Harvey’s expertise lies in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, dermatoplastic surgery, laser surgery, and eyelid reconstruction. He has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of skin cancer, cosmetic dermatology, aging skin, and eyelid surgery.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Harvey is committed to service, organizing skin cancer screenings for underserved communities, mentoring future dermatologists, and serving on various committees.

Awards & Recognition

Dr. David T. Harvey’s excellence has earned numerous honors, including a Presidential Citation Award in Mohs Surgery from the American Academy of Dermatology, the Inaugural Alumnus Impact Award from the University of South Florida Department of Dermatology, the Castle Connolly Award for Excellence, and repeated recognition as an Atlanta Top Doctor.

In 2024, Dr. Harvey founded The DermElevate Scholarship Initiative, dedicated to supporting underserved students pursuing careers in medicine and/or one of the healthcare fields. As president and CEO of The DermElevate Scholarship Initiative, he continues to champion opportunities for those seeking to improve their lives and contribute to the field of medicine.
